The Lifestyle Management Program (LMP) is designed to promote positive lifestyle and behavior change through custom exercise programs delivered via a Personal Trainer. Tiger Athletic offers a structured, action-oriented health promotion initiative designed to help individuals and corporate teams improve their health, reduce health risks and promote healthy behavior.
This program targets a range of different health concerns and areas such as weight management, obesity, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, re-entering physical activity after a long layoff from exercise, stress, smoking, and nutrition.
Obesity and overweight in both children and adults has become a ‘global epidemic’, in South Africa at least 62% of our population is overweight. This is a public health problem of significant concern, as the condition of being overweight or obese significantly raises the risk of morbidity from hypertension; hyperlipidemia; type 2 diabetes; coronary heart disease (CHD); stroke; gallbladder disease; osteoarthritis; sleep apnea and respiratory problems; and endometrial, breast, prostate and colon cancers. Further, higher body weights are associated with in all-cause mortality. Overweight and obesity is the second leading cause of preventable deaths in the modern world.
